After leading his side into the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, skipper Rohit Sharma has received praise from cricketing fraternity with latest from former women's skipper Mithali Raj.

India finished on the top of the Group 2 to progress to the next stage with victories against Pakistan, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe while losing only to South Africa.

Writing for ICC, Raj said she has been impressed by Sharma's captaincy during the course of this tournament. Her viewpoint was that some of the decisions he took were absolutely brilliant. Furthermore, she was clear on the idea that there are many factors involved while being a captain.

"I have been enjoying watching Rohit captain across this World Cup, I think some of his decisions have been brilliant,"

"Some might argue that he could have done this better or that, but every captain makes decisions at the spur of the moment, there are a lot of other factors the captain is considering at that time."

The 39-year-old also stated that he needs to stay calm and help his team to focus on the goal, rather than worrying about the outcome in a negative way.

"The most important thing is that you need to rally your team to achieve that goal and I think he is doing a fine job of that, hiccups will happen here and there, especially in a tournament like the World Cup. You will probably lose a game, but as captain it is important to get your team to refocus on the goal at hand."

Men in Blue will play their next encounter against England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 at Adelaide Oval on 10th November.
