India captain Rohit Sharma has injured himself during a training session in the nets.

He took a painful blow on his forearm while taking throw-downs in the nets. The Indian team physio rushed onto the field to check in on the Indian opener, who had to leave training after that.

The fact that he left the nets immediately and did not return could be a cause for concern.

Rohit Sharma has not been at his best in the World Cup so far but he remains a world-class player who can change the course of a match at any time.

Meanwhile, Team India will take on England in the semi-finals of the World Cup later this week and they will be hoping to make it to the finals of the showpiece event. Arch-rivals Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the other semi-final.

This raises the possibility of a blockbuster India vs Pakistan clash in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022.

For now, India will be focused on getting their captain back in the side and firing on all cylinders.

Latest Update: Rohit Sharma is back in training and he was spotted batting in the nets.
