Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) latest sensation, 19-year-old leg-spinner Suyash Sharma, has caught the eye of his experienced teammate, Varun Chakravarthy. The latter has showered praise on the young cricketer, dubbing him an "amazing talent" and a "guy for the future" of Indian cricket.

Sharma made his mark in his debut match for the KKR against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 6, where he claimed an impressive 3/30 and helped to dismantle RCB's lower order. He continued his fine form in the reverse fixture on Wednesday, where he picked up two wickets and conceded just 30 runs in his four overs after coming on as an Impact Player.

Speaking after the match, Chakravarthy was effusive in his praise for Sharma, describing him as a player with immense potential who could fast-track his way to the country's side.

“Suyash Sharma has come into the team and I could say that he’s a guy for the future of the country. He is an amazing talent,” said Chakravarthy.

The 31-year-old spinner also expressed his hope that Sharma could understand the level of cricket they were playing and continue to improve his game.

“I wish he can understand the level of cricket we are playing and fast-track his way to the county’s side,” added the Tamil Nadu-based cricketer.

The young spin prodigy’s performance has caught the attention of fans and critics alike, and his contributions have been crucial in Kolkata's victories. As a young player, he has shown great potential and skill, and it will be exciting to see how his career progresses in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Chakravarthy himself was instrumental in KKR's 21 run victory over RCB, earning the Player of the Match award for his figures of 3/27. The leg spinner's vast experience proved crucial in halting RCB's chase, as he cleverly dismissed Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, and Dinesh Karthik with his bowling.
