Yuvraj Singh is one of the finest white-ball cricketers to play for India and it was his ability to deliver under pressure in big tournaments that made him special. He played plenty of match-winning knocks in his career and his 6 sixes against Stuart Broad is the most celebrated knock.

However, the importance of his knock against Australia in the Quarterfinal of World Cup 2011 when India were under pump at the Motera stadium can never be forgotten. Let's now revisit that classic knock as we celebrate 42nd birthday of the legend.

It was a pressure-cooker of a game as India were playing the home world cup and were up against mighty Aussies who were the winners of previous two editions.

The Ricky Ponting-led Aussie unit batted first and posted a decent score of 260 on the board with their skipper leading from the front with a fantastic knock of 104. India started well with Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir scored fifties, but both of them could not convert those starts and India were reduced to 187-5 in the 38th over.

Yuvraj And Suresh Raina Show Calmness Against Aussie Might

Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina were in the middle, the last recognised batting pair for India and Aussies were knock to not let things drift away when they take control. However, Yuvraj Singh stood tall along with Suresh Raina and battled against quality bowlers like Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson who tried everything they could do, but Yuvraj kept his cool under pressure and found timely boundaries.

The southpaw scored 57 off 65 balls and hit the winning boundary through covers against Brett Lee and the passionate roar that followed showed the world what it meant to Yuvraj and the Indian team

Dhoni's boys eventually won the World Cup, and Yuvraj Singh was the player of the tournament with his all-round performance.
