Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the most outstanding all-rounders of his generation. He has always given his best on the field, using his skills to help his team win. One of his most memorable performances came when he took on one of the toughest teams in cricket – Australia. Here's a look back at the magical performance that helped India take control of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

When Ravindra Jadeja's All-Round Skills Stole the Show

In the second Test match between India and Australia at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Jadeja's all-round brilliance was on full display. His outstanding performance helped India secure a six-wicket victory, giving them a 2-0 lead in four-match series.

Australia posted 263 runs in their first innings, while India scored 262, just one run short. On day three of the match, Jadeja's career-best Test bowling figures – 7 wickets for just 42 runs – completely destroyed Australia's second innings. Along with Ravichandran Ashwin, who took 3 wickets for 59 runs, Jadeja helped bowl Australia out for just 113 runs, setting India a small target of 115 runs for victory.

Although India's top order struggled a bit while chasing the target, the small number of runs meant India was always in control. India achieved victory in the second session on day three, sealing the win and retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The 35-year-old had already put up a strong performance in the first innings, claiming 3 wickets for 68 runs in 21 overs. But it was in the second innings where he truly shone with his best-ever Test bowling figures of 7 wickets for 42 runs in just 12.1 overs. Australia were all out for 113, giving India a clear path to victory.

Apart from his bowling, Jadeja also contributed with the bat, scoring 26 runs off 74 balls in India's first innings, including 4 boundaries.
