Good performance is fun only when Pakistan wins: Naseem Shah

In the absence of spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan's Naseem Shah has risen to the occasion in white-ball cricket, namely in T20Is. 

However, yesterday in the first ODI against New Zealand in Karachi, the pacer rattled the visitors with disciplined bowling.

Naseem, 19, claimed his second five-wicket haul in just his fourth ODI on Monday to help Pakistan win the encounter with ease, chasing 256 to win, and take 1-0 lead.

Shah's wickets include — Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, and debutant Henry Shipley.

Speaking in the post-match presentation, Shah said that performances only count when Pakistan wins.


Here's what Naseem said

"Good performance is fun only when the team wins. Everyone bowled well. It was reversing, and I just bowled to my strength."

The second ODI will take place on Wednesday, while the third and final match is scheduled for Friday, The Peshawar-born gained prominence from Asia Cup 2022, and since then been impressive.

Overall, in 15 Tests, 4 ODIs and 16 T20Is, Naseem has picked up 72 international wickets.
