Sarandeep Singh pinpoints India's blunders after shambolic semi-final pounding

Former India cricketer Sarandeep Singh lamented at the Men in Blue's lapses in the T20 World Cup 2022 as the side was shown the exit door of another ICC tournament after suffering a drubbing at the hands of England in the recently-concluded semi-final.

Citing at India's missteps, Sarandeep touched upon the openers' failures while also asserting that at least half of the players from the current crop might not be seen in the next edition of the T20 World Cup that is still two years down the line from now.

Here is what Sarandeep said to PTI

"Unfortunately for India, Rahul and Rohit could not find form in the big games, putting pressure on Virat and Suryakumar, who both can’t perform game after game. Not playing Rishabh Pant in the league stage (he played only one game) also baffled me,

"I don’t see at least half of the team members playing the next T20 World Cup including Rohit, Virat, Ashwin, Shami and Bhuvi. The selectors need to take a call on that."

With the tournament now over for India, their next assignment which comes in the form of a New Zealand tour starts with a three-match T20I series on November 18 at Wellington.
