India just faced a crushing 10-wicket defeat at the hands of England at the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. The game looked like an easy win by the Three Lions, even after India put up a decent 168 run total on the scoreboard, the English opening duo scored runs like bread and butter.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya were the stars of the batting lineup but alas their efforts went in vain. Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody commented on the Men in Blue and how they lacked 'intent'.

Tom Moody calls India 'conservative'

"I thought it was an innings of two halves. First half was a very conservative approach from India that lacked intent,  we all know that Adelaide has short boundaries square and we could particularly see that in the back-end of the innings, how easy four were captured on the leg and the off side."

"And then, if it wasn't for an absolute blinding innings from Hardik Pandya, India would have been probably 150, let alone high 160s."

Moody also shared his expertise on India's batting duo. The two openers have been unable to churn out any worthwhile performances in the tournament and their inconsistencies ultimately led to the fallout of the team.

"You have to look in the first ten overs - the number of dot balls that were consumed, the lack of boundaries that were obtained, that may well be something that India will look back on and think they missed a trick."
