In an interesting turn of events, Punjab Kings named Shikhar Dhawan their captain, releasing former skipper Mayank Agarwal to the mini-auction pool. Agarwal had an ordinary IPL campaign last season, which paved the way for his exclusion from the team.

Meanwhile, former India opener Aakash Chopra believes Sunrisers Hyderabad could bid for Agarwal in the upcoming mini-auction. While analysing the IPL retentions on his YouTube channel, Chopra stressed that SRH need an opener and a captain, so they might go after Agarwal in the auction.

Chopra, who played 10 Tests for India, also reckoned that SRH might bid for Ben Stokes and Manish Pandey, as they are in dire need of batters, having six bowlers in their twelve retained players.

Here's what Chopra opined

"What about Hyderabad? 42 crore rupees, what will you do with that much money? They have changed the entire household. They have 12 players of which six are fast bowlers. That means they don't have to shop for fast bowlers,

"I see Mayank Agarwal going to them. They might run towards Manish Pandey as well. They might want to pick Ben Stokes, they can keep him as well, because they have a lot of money and they don't need bowlers."
