In a significant development, Punjab Kings have appointed Wasim Jaffer and Charl Langeveldt as their batting and bowling coaches, respectively. Both these former international players have joined the head coach Trevor Bayliss in the Kings' camp.

Jaffer, the team's batting coach from 2019 to 2021, stepped down from his role just before the 2022 mega auction. However, the former Mumbai batter's reunion will likely help the young batters evolve, as he is regarded as one of the finest products of the Indian domestic circuit.

On the other hand, Langeveldt succeeded Damien Wright, who served as the Kings' bowling coach in the IPL 2022. The former South African pacer was renowned for classical seam bowling during his playing days; therefore, he can groom the budding fast bowlers under his guidance.

In another move, the Kings have hired Brad Haddin as their assistant coach. The former Australian keeper-batter has a plethora of coaching experience and can take the franchise to new heights by working alongside the head coach Trevor Bayliss.

Punjab blew hot and cold in the IPL 2022, managing only seven wins in fourteen outings. Their underwhelming performance in the tournament led to a revamp in the leadership group, with Trevor Bayliss and Shikhar Dhawan replacing Anil Kumble and Mayank Agarwal as the coach and captain, respectively.
