In a thrilling IPL match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, Yashasvi Jaiswal emerged as the star performer, despite his team losing by six wickets.

The young opener's spectacular knock of 124 runs off just 62 balls was described by former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra, as an "unbelievable effort" on a pitch that was offering a lot of assistance to the seamers.

The renowned commentator was full of praise for the southpaw, who he believes is a rare talent in the world of cricket. According to him, Jaiswal is not just a T20 specialist, but an all-format player who can dominate any form of the game.

"There is no doubt in my mind or your mind that the most valuable player of the match has to be Yashasvi Jaiswal. Firstly he is an all-format player. Don't even think by mistake that he plays well only in T20s. He demolishes the opposition in day's cricket,” said Chopra in a YouTube video on his channel.

Chopra further highlighted the prodigious batter's performances in first-class and List-A cricket, where he has been consistently scoring runs and setting records.

"He has a double century in the first innings and a century in the second innings of the Irani Trophy final. If you check his numbers in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is 50-over cricket, he has scored a double century. He is made of a different material. The guy is different,” added the erstwhile cricketer.

The 45-year-old was particularly impressed with Jaiswal's ability to take on the fast bowlers on a pitch that was offering a lot of bounce and sideways movement.

Despite the likes of Jos Buttler struggling to deal with the seaming conditions, the dynamic left-hander was able to dominate the Mumbai Indians' pacers, hitting them for sixes and fours with ease.

The cricket expert praised Jaiswal for his resilience and determination, noting that he was able to score runs even when the other batsmen were struggling.

While the result may not have gone the way of the Rajasthan Royals, Jaiswal's performance will be remembered as one of the standout moments of the IPL 2023 season so far.
