Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has expressed his profound admiration for Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, labeling him as his favourite batter in the world of cricket.

During a recent interview with a Pakistan media personnel, the legendary pacer was effusive in his praise for the 28-year-old cricketer, lauding his impressive skills and talent on the cricket field. Specifically, Lee was captivated by Babar's elegant cover drive, which he described as being "beautiful."

"My favorite batsman is Babar Azam... beautiful cover drive," said Brett Lee as reported by Cricket Pakistan.

Babar's performance in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) was nothing short of spectacular. As captain of the Peshawar Zalmi, he amassed a total of 522 runs at an impressive average of 52.20 and finished second in the leading run-scorers list.

Despite the odds being stacked against them, the Pakistan captain's leadership and batting prowess were instrumental in ensuring that the team qualified for the playoffs, which was a testament to his skills as both a batsman and captain.

Curtains were brought down on Peshawar Zalmi’s PSL 8 campaign after they were defeated by the Lahore Qalandars by four wickets in the Eliminator 2. The Lahore Qalandars eventually went on to win the PSL 8 title, defending their championship by beating the Multan Sultans in the final.
