A huge debacle is running in Indian cricket post the men's cricket team's exit from the T20 World Cup 2022. The Men in Blue saw another disastrous crashing out of an ICC event in the recently concluded tournament.
The onus of that loss has been put on Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid's head after India travelled to Australia as the favourites to lift the trophy. However, it would be unfair on the duo to put them under scrutiny as it was only their maiden attempt in an ICC event. But if reports are to be true, India's most successful white-ball skipper MS Dhoni can again be brought back into the setup.
As per The Telegraph, the BCCI is mulling over how to utilise Dhoni’s expertise and he could be asked to work with the T20I squad alongside the current head coach. Notably, the former Indian skipper was asked to travel with the Men in Blue during the T20 World Cup of 2021.
Meanwhile, England's renowned pundit Nasser Hussain has also advised a few tips to India and suggested they bring in an Eoin Morgan-like character, hinting towards Hardik Pandya's appointment as T20I leader.
Pandya, who has already won five IPL trophies, has already shown growth as a captain leading Gujarat Titans to their maiden title in their maiden attempt. Apart from that, the maestro all-rounder was the lone player who kept motivating the team when the chips were low against England in the semifinal.
Coming back to MS Dhoni, who can hang up his boots from all sorts of cricket after the 2023 edition and then start working with Chennai as a mentor or coach.
