In a significant turn of events, experienced Australian speedster Jason Behrendorff has signed a two-year contract extension with Perth Scorchers. As a result, the left-arm seamer will be seen donning the Scorchers' jersey at least until the end of the BBL 2024-25 season.

In a statement released by the club, Behrendorff expressed his delight at representing his native side in the BBL for two more years.

Continuing, the West Australian also explained how the members of the Scorchers' pace battery compliment each other and focus on evolving their skills during the course of the tournament.

Here's what Behrendorff stated

"I'm absolutely stoked to sign with Perth again. It's a team that I've played a lot of cricket for and a team that I love. Having a clear idea of what my strengths are and what the team requires of me is a fortunate position for me to be in,

"We compliment each other really nicely. To keep us moving forward, we're always looking to get better at a new delivery or skill. For me personally, I was able to bowl through the middle and at the end at the death overs this year. It's been a very good group, and I can't wait to play for a couple more years here."

Regarded as one of the finest new-ball operators in the Australian circuit, Behrendorff has enjoyed prolific success for the Scorchers in the BBL, scalping 107 wickets in 86 outings.

The 32-year-old has been a vital cog in the setup, having helped the side clinch five BBL titles during his 12-year stint.

So, considering his ability and experience, we expect the ace pacer to lead the defending champions to a few more triumphant campaigns in the coming years.
