In a massive setback for England, promising batting all-rounder Will Jacks has been ruled out of the remainder of the Bangladesh tour due to a thigh injury. The dynamic right-handed batter will fly back home within the next 48 hours to undergo rehabilitation.

The unfortunate news was surfaced by the England Cricket Board's official Twitter handle on Sunday evening.

The tweet read,

"Will Jacks has been ruled out for the remainder of our tour of Bangladesh after suffering a left thigh injury. Jacks will fly home in the next 48 hours to begin his recovery. Wishing you all the best, @Wjacks9."

Since debuting in September 2022, Jacks has established himself as a vital cog in the English white-ball setup.

After having a string of impressive outings in the away series in Pakistan, the 24-year-old grabbed a million eyeballs through some sensational performances for Pretoria Capitals in the recently concluded SA20 competition.

Regarded as one of the cleanest strikers of the ball, Jacks played a pivotal role in powering the Capitals to the final of the tournament, amassing 270 runs at a healthy average of 38.47 and a blistering strike rate of 201.49.

Besides his batting ability, his wily off-spin makes the Surrey player an asset for any side in modern-day white-ball game.

He also fared decently in the two ODIs he played on the Bangladesh tour, scoring 27 runs and scalping one wicket.

However, as he has been ruled out, it will be interesting to see what combination the visitors field in the dead rubber, scheduled on Monday.
