Adil Rashid joins elite bowlers in a rare T20I milestone

On Sunday, England handed Pakistan a painful five-wicket defeat in the final to clinch the T20 World Cup trophy in Melbourne. Bowling first, the Englishmen restricted Pakistan to a paltry 137 and chased it successfully, riding on a stupendous fifty from Ben Stokes. 

Adil Rashid was the wrecker-in-chief for England with the ball, registering excellent bowling figures of two for 22 in four overs. He not only ensured England's comeback but also etched his name in the history books in this process. 

Notably, Rashid recorded a wicket-maiden over in the game, becoming only the fourth bowler after Mohammad Amir, Angelo Mathews and Samuel Badree to do so in a T20 World Cup final. While Amir did it in 2009, Mathews and Badree replicated it in the 2012 and 2016 World Cups. 

In his second over, Rashid removed Babar Azam in the very first delivery. Then, he deceived Iftikhar Ahmed with his guile in the next five deliveries to record the solitary maiden over in the low-scoring encounter. His spell triggered Pakistan's collapse, ensuring England's roaring comeback in the match. Although he was having a torrid time with the ball till the final, the wily spinner proved his mettle when it mattered, silencing his critics in style.
