'A very laid-back character...' Joshua Little Comes up with Strong Words for Hardik Pandya

An impressive T20 World Cup 2022 outing for Ireland earned Joshua Little an Indian Premier League (IPL) contract. Purchased for INR 4.4 crore by Gujarat Titans, Little became the first Irish player to play in the IPL, when he made his tournament debut against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 31.

The 23-year-old in four IPL 2023 matches, has picked three wickets, being on the higher side of the economy. Speaking to NEWS18, Little opened up about his experiences with former India pacer Ashish Nehra, and Titans' skipper Hardik Pandya.

Little, who had a bidding war during the IPL Auction between Lucknow Super Giants and GT, explained how coach Nehra talks with the left-arm bowler during net sessions, and Pandya is a laid-back person.

Little praised Nehra for helping him during every training sessions and added that Nehra discusses about plans and fields after every training session and applauded Nehra as a special coach to work with because of his passion and knowledge of the game.

Here's what Little said

"Like you said, both left-arm seamers and he is very very passionate about the game. And takes every second he can to share his knowledge with me. He pulls me aside every training session for 5-10 minutes and talks about plans, fields. He has been invaluable and a special coach to work with just because of his passion and knowledge of the game,"

He also praised Hardik Pandya as a laid-back but strong character.

"A very laid-back character but a strong character too. Two things which go hand in hand and you can see that on the cricket pitch too."

Little, who has participated in other T20 Leagues around the world, added that the standard of cricket in the IPL is close to the international level.

The Titans play LSG on Saturday in Lucknow.
