In an exclusive chat with OneCricket, U19 batter Sachin Dhas revealed that he met flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya to seek valuable left lessons, and the latter’s rollercoaster journey inspired him and as he expressed gratitude for the life and support he has had from his parents.

Sachin Dhas, India’s emerging middle-order batter, first grabbed the limelight for his noteworthy knocks in the U19 World Cup 2024. The Maharashtra-born finished as 5th highest run scorer of the tournament with 303 runs and a 116.53 strike rate in 7 games. 

Dhas came to the rescue when India were down to 31/4 in the semi-final against South Africa. He slammed 95 off 96 balls and gathered a 171-run partnership with skipper Uday Saharan as India won the match by 2 wickets and entered the finals.

Before the semi-finals, Sachin Dhas also slammed a century against Nepal in the league stage game. While India lost the U19 World Cup, Dhas made a name for himself with his magic with the bat.

Meanwhile, ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Sachin Dhas spoke exclusively to One Cricket and shared his journey. He recalled his life changing meeting with Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. 

Upon learning about Hardik’s struggles growing up, Dhas felt inspired and equally fortunate to have supporting parents who have stood by him at every step of the way. His passion is also their dream as the Dhas family strives hard to uplift his cricketing career.

Of course, Sachin Dhas will have plenty of takers at the mega auction table for IPL 2025. He is special talent, and any team needing replenishing in the middle order can choose Dhas as a long-term insurance option.

Aakash Chopra impressed with Dhas’ technique

Following a terrific 95-run knock against South Africa in the semi-final of the U19 World Cup 2024, Sachin Dhas received high praise from analyst Aakash Chopra. He lauded Dhas’ technique of hitting drives and pulls effortlessly. Moreover, Chopra added that Sachin’s ability to free his arms and hit through the line makes him a special player.
