At the auction, the RCB Women’s franchise added four more cricketers to its line-up in the form of Prema Rawat, Raghvi Bist, Jagravi Pawar and Joshitha V J. Williams signified the new acquisition of Prema by emphasizing the importance of her control over wrist spin.

RCB coach delighted over WPL 2025 auction results

While speaking with OneCricket shortly after the WPL 2025 auction, RCB head coach Luke Williams praised the talent scout of the franchise for carefully evaluating the players during performance camps. Williams welcomed the inclusion of Prema Rawat into the RCB line-up, as he believes her wrist-spin will further strengthen the team’s spin arsenal.

The former Australian cricketer also acknowledged the selection of pace-bowling all-rounders Joshitha VJ, Raghvi Bist, and Jagravi Pawar. He further added that the RCB team management shaped its squad at the auction by keeping the upcoming WPL 2025 season in mind. He said:

“We’re delighted with the work our scouts have done throughout the season and during the camps we hosted, which gave us the chance to carefully evaluate players. Prema brings great control as a wrist spinner, which is invaluable in T20 cricket, and strengthening our spin arsenal was a key priority. Additionally, the pace-bowling all-rounders provide the flexibility we need to handle various match scenarios.”

“We’ve built this squad with the upcoming tournament in mind, and we’re confident that these players can make an impact in the XI right away.”

The RCB franchise entered the WPL 2025 auction with a purse of ₹3.25 crores and with four vacant slots. The four slots have now been filled with players who have demonstrated tremendous potential in the domestic circuit, and each of them were carefully chosen to provide more edge to RCB’s established core, ensuring a more dynamic and balanced squad.

The RCB franchise won the WPL 2024 season earlier this year under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana. Their title-winning season was highlighted by outstanding performances from players like Ellyse Perry, who won the Orange Cap with 347 runs, and Shreyanka Patil, who claimed the Purple Cap with 13 wickets. To further bolster their squad, RCB made a key move in October, trading in England’s star top-order batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge, renowned for her ability to deliver under pressure.
