Danni Wyatt-Hodge Joins Royal Challengers Bengaluru for WPL 2025

UP Warriorz Women had picked up the 33-year-old for INR 30 lakhs during the WPL 2024 auction. However, she did not feature in the high-octane tournament. Now, she will move to RCB at the same price and will hope to make her debut in the WPL.

It is worth mentioning that Danni Wyatt-Hodge brings loads of international experience to the table. The opener has featured in 164 T20I matches for England, where she has notched up 2,979 runs at a strike rate of 127.85.

Her stats includes 16 half-centuries and two centuries. Her explosive batting could be the missing piece in RCB’s title defense strategy for the upcoming season. RCB fans will be excited and the team will surely be overjoyed with this new signing.

Wyatt Has Been a Long-Time Kohli Admirer

For the unversed, Wyatt-Hodge has a special connection with RCB’s biggest star, Virat Kohli. Back in 2014, she had famously proposed to Kohli on social media, tweeting, “Kholi marry me!!!” Although the proposal was all in jest and good spirits, it sure added to her charm among Indian cricket fans.

Coming to the present, Wyatt is now married to her long-time partner, Georgie Hodge. The two recently tied the knot on August 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wyatt’s move to RCB is a dream come true. The batter has always admired Kohli and she will be stoked to join the team he has been the face for so many years.

With her signing, RCB's batting lineup now has a chance to pack a bigger punch in WPL 2025. It’s time for Wyatt-Hodge to prove her mettle and make a mark for the Women in Red & Gold.
