Mumbai Indians won by eight wickets.

10:15 PM |  In the clash of the table-toppers, Mumbai Indians shot down Delhi Capitals in flames. The run-chase was expected to be cakewalk for MI and they lived up to the expectations. Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews set-it up with their 65-run opening stand. Nat Sciver-Brunt finished off nicely, scoring a 19-ball 23.

Earlier, Saika Ishaque, Issy Wong and Matthews play havoc with the Delhi Capitals batters. The trio took three wickets each to bundle out the Capitals for 105 runs.

Nat Sciver-Brunt ends it in style. Hits a four to gather an easy win for MI. Harmanpreet and Co. remain undefeated in the tournament.

For those who don't know, it's Pashchim Pathak

Aayush: MI are moments away from winning their third match on the trot in WPL 2023.

MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur walks out to bat.

Jemi holds on to a brilliant diving catch. Matthews plays a slog off Capsey's delivery, miscues the ball straight in the air. Jemimah takes a run from long-off and dives to pull off a stunner.

9:49 PM | Just 31 runs left in the chase with 10 overs to go.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is MI's no.3.

That is out. First breakthrough for DC. Yastika's 41-run knock ends. Tara Norris bowls full. The southpaw goes for the drive but in return the ball gets hit on her pads.

9:44 PM | Yastika Bhatia has been adjudged lbw. She has straightaway gone for the DRS.

That's right

9:39 PM | It's time for a strategic break.

Yastika survives... Wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia misses a catch off Alice Capsey's bowling. It might have not mattered much as DC are just delaying the inevitable.

9:35 PM |  Yastika has a heart in her mouth moment as she goes aerial. Could not time ball well. But gets saved as Shafali fails to get into the catching position.

The opening partnership for MI goes over 50 runs.

Nothing going right for DC. After a dismal batting half, they leaks away 47 runs in the powerplay while defending a total of 105.

9:27 PM | It's raining fours from both the ends. Yastika Bhatia is on a mission to finish this early. Another three-boundary over for MI.

Aayush: Matthews deep-six Shikha Pandey. It's a boundary-fest out there. Poor fielding are not going to make things any better for DC.

9:20 PM | Kapp tighten the run-scoring. Gives away just a run in her second over.

Aayush: MI have the firepower to do that.

9:12 PM | 9 off the first over. Yastika Bhatia brought out the delectable drives and gathers two fours.

9:10 PM | The run-chase is about to start. Hayley Matthews and Yastika Bhatia will open for MI. Marizanne Kapp to bowl the first over.

8:58 PM |  Delhi Capitals were always one step behind Mumbai Indians in the first innings. Meg Lanning also struggled, however, scored a 41-ball 43. Jemimah Rodrigues looked comfortable in her brief stay at the crease. She played a 25-run knock.

Saika Ishaque, Hayley Matthews and Issy Wong shared nine wickets between themselves, claiming three scalps apiece.

Matthews bowls a straighter one. Norris tries to defends it but the ball smashes on the pads. Delhi Capitals are done and dusted for just 105 runs.

8:53 PM |  Another review is taken by MI. Tara Norris gets hit on the pads but the on-field umpire has adjudged it not-out. The decision has to overturned. It's out.

8:50 PM |  Mumbai Indians have challenged umpire's decision. They are looking for an lbw. On-field umpire has got it right. The decision stays.

Tara Norris is the new batter.

DC are at the brink of an all-out now. Wong bowls out of Radha Yadav's arc as the batter top-edges a wideish delivery.

Shikha Pandey is DC's no. 10.

Taniya Bhatia tries to throw caution to the win. Heaves it towards the leg-side on a Issy Wong delivery but gets caught at the short mid-wicket region. Delhi are now 98/8.

Vadapav a clear winner as of now

Aayush: DC have lost four wickets in last 1.3 overs, scoring just three runs.

Radha Yadav strides out to bat.

Wickets are falling like ninepins. Minnu bags a duck on her debut, gets stumped. Matthews takes her second wicket of the night.

Debutant Minnu Manni is the new batter

Stop it MI. My fingers are paining. Nonetheless, it's Jonassen now who takes a long walk back to the dressing room. Matthews tosses the ball up. Jonassen sees the opportunity but gets tricked. Gives an easy catch at point.

Taniya Bhatia is in at no.7.

DC cotinue to dance to Ishaque's tunes. It's their skipper this time. Lanning goes after scoring a 41-ball 43.

Jess Jonassen comes out to the middle.

Left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque continues to impress. Puts in the big wicket of Jemimah in her kitty. Another cut short going wrong for DC as the ball hits the stumps.

8:17 PM | Lanning finally tees off. Scores three consecutive boundaries off Amelia Kerr. Delhi are now on the way to recovery.

Aayush: Lanning is struggling. However, it's Jemimah, who is doing a jood gob here. She has already scored three boundaries and is batting on 16 off just nine deliveries.

A strategic time-out has been taken.

Jemimah Rodrigues comes to the middle.

Mumbai are making a mockery of the Capitals. Another wicket falls in the form of Marizanne Kapp. Issy Wong brings an inswinger out of her armoury as Kapp inside-edges the ball on to the stumps.

7:56 PM | MI continue to maintain their dominance over their opponents. DC must be experiencing something new. After the powerplay, they are 29 for 2.

Marizanne Kapp is the new batter.

Another one bites the dust. Capsey's promotion served no purpose. Pooja Vastrakar takes the wicket as the batter plays a drive straight to the hands of Jintimani Kalita.

Aayush: It's been quiet five overs for DC. They must make use of the last powerplay over.

Something for the RCB fans

Capsey gets a lifeline. She plays a slog only to mistime it. Matthews backtracks for the catch but fails to hold on to it.

Alice Capsey is given a promotion. She walks in at no. 3 for DC.

The openers are going for the shots... And just like that, Shafali is done for the match. Saika Ishaque bowls full as Shafali gets deceived completed. The ball crashes on to the stumps.

Almost, almost... Nat found Lanning wanting as the latter edges the ball to the slip but it drops in front of the fielder.

7:32 PM | Lanning starts off with a four. Nat Sciver-Brunt allows her the room as she plays a cut.

7:30 PM | DC openers Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma are out in the centre, so does the MI players. Let's get started with the action.

Aayush: Arundhatti Reday's exclusion is not a surprise. The medium pacer had bowled only one over for Delhi in the season so far.

Toss update

Delhi Capitals opt to bat first

Pitch Report (Natalie Germanos and Kate Cross): There is a small boundary and the bowlers will have that on the back of their mind. On the off-side, if I'm a right-hander, the boundary is just 50 m. The leg side is 59 m. Behind square 44 and 48. So really small behind square. It's been really difficult to bowl in this tournament. Plan A is to bowl at the top of the off stump. Plan B should be the yorker. It has been under-utilized. Only 5 % have been the yorkers. Maybe shutting the short side of the boundary will be the way to go tonight.

Happy faces before the match

The Capitals have been convincing in their wins. The Meg Lanning-led side have registered 200-plus totals while batting first in both of their fixtures. Their skipper has two 70s to her name.

Mumbai have hit the mark with their skipper Harmanpreet Kaur leading them well. It has been a thoroughly professional display from their end. Firing on all cylinders, Mumbai, have swept both of their opponents so far in the tournament. While the first game saw them winning by 143 runs against Gujarat Giants, they replicated the same performance, gaining a nine-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore

It's the battle of the undefeated. Both Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are yet to be defeated in the competition as they have won their two games so far.
