Hasan Ali wants to prove his abilities in the forthcoming domestic season to impress the captain and team management and earn a comeback.

Once a Pakistan pace bowling spearhead, Ali was recently dropped from the national squad ahead of the Netherlands series and Asia Cup.

The exclusion from the squad of the Asia Cup squad certainly leaves the fast bowler with no chances of appearing for the Men in Green in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.

The last iteration of the T20 World Cup witnessed the 28-year-old picking five wickets, with an economy of nine.

In his last international assignment, Ali could secure only three wickets in two Tests against Sri Lanka.

However, Ali is hopeful of making a comeback on the back of a strong showing in the T20 tournaments.

"My performances have not been up to the mark and I am disappointed because of that,” Ali told PCB Digital.

"I am working on the technical, tactical and mental aspects and looking forward to regain the rhythm and stage a comeback in the national side.

“I have an opportunity to showcase my skills in the National T20 and earn back the confidence of the selection committee, team management and captain to re-enter the national side.”

Ali looked back on his last international comeback in 2021 after recovering from a back injury and producing his best in the domestic circuit. He made a terrific comeback by taking 41 Test wickets in the same year, which was the third-highest by any bowler in the calendar year.

Further, Ali added that domestic cricket helps a player to understand their game better and play with some quality cricketers.

“I am a fighter and I don’t give up,” Ali said.

“Two years back when I was out due to injury, I made a comeback after performing in a domestic tournament (Quaid-e-Azam Trophy). "
