All-India Women’s Selection Committee on Friday (19 August) announced the ODI and T20I squad for the forthcoming England Tour. Both the teams will square up against each other for three matches each in both formats from 10th to 24th September.

Jhulan Goswami and Jemimah Rodrigues are back in the scheme of things for the ODI set-up. Rodrigues marks her presence in the T20I team as well, on the back of consistent contributions in recent months.

The swashbuckling batter Kiran Navgire has received her maiden T20I call-up. She got recognition after scoring 69 off 34 balls in the Women's T20 Challenge 2022.

What Transpired in India's last Tour to England

The Indian Women's team last toured England in June-July 2021 for an all-format bilateral series. Both teams played out a draw in a one-off Test fixture.

England secured a 2-1 victory in the ODI and T20I series. However, it was a strong performance by the Indian team compared to their earlier series against Three Lionesses.

It will be interesting to see if India can continue the well-built momentum of the Commonwealth Games in this series as well.
