The veteran pacer Stuart Broad has achieved the milestone of taking 100 Test wickets at the Home of Cricket, Lord's. He completed this achievement in the first fixture of the home Test series against South Africa on Thursday (18 August). 

In this pursuit, he became the only fourth bowler to take 100 or more red-ball wickets at a single ground.  The other three bowlers have been Muttiah Muralitharan, James Anderson and Rangana Herath. 

In his 26th Test appearance, Broad bowled a peach of a delivery to induce an edge off Kyle Verreynne, and getting him hold out to wicket-keeper Ben Foakes. 


South Africa finish Day 2 on a dominating fashion

In the first session of Day Two, South African bowlers were clinical to wrap up the English team for a total of 165. The most successful bowler for the visitors was Kagiso Rabada with five scalps. 

Afterwards, Dean Elgar (47) and Sarel Erwee (73) were flawless to give a rousing start for the Proteas. Although English skipper Ben Stokes took quick wickets in the second session, the South African team made a terrific comeback in the final session. 

Keshav Maharaj (41) and Marco Jansen were terrific with their ball-striking abilities stitched a 72 run-stand for the seventh wicket. At the end of day's play, South Africa are at 289/7, with a lead of 124 runs. Jansen is unbeaten on 41 off 57, with Rabada (3*) as his partner.
