Nahid Rana's story begins in the cricket-loving district of Chapai Nawabganj, located in Bangladesh's northwest border. Growing up in this region, Nahid's introduction to cricket came relatively late.

It wasn't until 2020 that he picked up the cricket ball in earnest, at the age of 18—a time when most cricketers are already on their way to honing their skills. After passing his Higher Secondary School Certificate in the same year, Nahid decided to pursue cricket more seriously and joined a cricket academy in Rajshahi.

Initially, Nahid's role was limited to that of a net bowler for the Rajshahi Division batters. However, his consistent ability to bowl at high speeds quickly caught the selectors' eyes.

Nahid Rana's First Class Debut -

Nahid Rana's domestic career took off when he made his first-class debut for Rajshahi Division on October 31, 2021, in the National Cricket League.

The early days of his career were a baptism of fire, but Nahid quickly found his footing. His breakthrough moment came exactly a year later, on October 31, 2022, when he claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket against Barishal Division.

It was a performance that not only announced his arrival but also solidified his reputation as a bowler to watch. In the 2022–23 National Cricket League, Nahid was the second-highest wicket-taker, with an impressive tally of 32 wickets.

Nahid Rana's Domestic T20 Career -

Nahid's talents were soon recognized at the national level, and in January 2023, he was selected to play for Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

He made his T20 debut on January 24, 2023, and although his figures of 1 for 20 in four overs were modest, it was his sheer pace—regularly clocking between 140 to 148 km/h—that grabbed the headlines.

Nahid's ability to bowl at such high speeds consistently is a rare commodity in Bangladeshi cricket, where pace bowlers are often overshadowed by spinners.

Nahid Rana's List A Debut -

In March 2023, Nahid added another feather to his cap by making his List A debut for Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. His adaptability across formats was evident as he continued to make strides in his domestic career.

His ability to generate pace and bounce on a relatively docile pitch set pulses racing, and he finished his first day as a Test cricketer with three wickets to his name.

But it was in his second Test, against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, where Nahid truly announced himself on the international stage.
