Shubman Gill has come out to bat on a cricket field after almost a month and has met with utter disappointment for himself as well as the Indian cricket fans. In the first T20I at Barabati Stadium between India and South Africa, Shubman Gill was disappointingly dismissed by Lungi Ngidi in the second ball of his innings.

The first ball was struck for a boundary by Gill, and on the very next ball, while trying to swing hard, he mistimed the delivery and also missed the length as it went straight up in the air to be palmed by the fielder. Gill failed to clear the inner circle and was safely caught by Marco Jansen. 

Netizens make ugly critique of Gill’s comeback

Shubman Gill's return to cricket, hence, has not been one to celebrate. After being ruled out in the second Test against South Africa for his neck spasm, which he later elaborated was due to a disc bulge in the neck, Gill was heavily slammed because of his rash approach with the bat from the very beginning.

Currently India stand at the brink of a mini collapse as Suryakumar Yadav, who came in after Gill, also lost his wicket soon as Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma steer the ship with India losing two wickets already inside the powerplays.
