No major changes from England series
Prior to the Sri Lanka series, India women toured England where India won the series 3-2. From that series, there has not been much change to the squad, but a 19-year-old Vaishnavi Sharma has been called to the squad.
Other than that, Renuka Singh Thakur too has found a place in the team after missing out from the England series.
Who is Vaishnavi Sharma?
The 19-year-old hails from Madhya Pradesh and bowls left-arm orthodox spin. She rose to fame during Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup, where she picked up 12 wickets in five innings, impressing the critics.
Further, Vaishnavi became the talk of the town after she took a sensational hat-trick against Malaysia women, which eventually helped India register a ten wicket win. Also, Vaishnavi became the first-ever India women cricketer to take a hat-trick in Women's T20 World Cup at the under 19 stage.
