Following their triumphs in the inaugural Women's Hundred editions in 2021 and 2022, Oval Invincibles Women suffered early elimination from this year's tournament. Their departure was sealed just before Saturday's encounter, as the Southern Brave Women thrashed them by seven wickets with four balls to spare. 

Suzie Bates delivered a standout performance for OVI-W in that match, crafting an impressive 55 off 46 balls. Paige Scholfield also added value with her contribution of a quick-fire 17-ball 30. In the bowling segment, Nadine de Klerk, Marizanne Kapp, and Paige Scholfield each claimed a wicket.

Defending a total of 131 runs on Saturday, the Invincibles managed to keep the Brave's required run rate in check. However, they eventually failed to win the game, with Georgia Adams and Freya Kemp helping the Brave get past the finish line.

Trent Rockets Women

Despite facing early challenges, the Trent Rockets Women managed to revive their playoff prospects in the 2023 Women's Hundred. After a lacklustre start, their turnaround is impressive, especially considering the upcoming stage of the tournament.

In their latest showdown, the Rockets secured a nail-biting three-run triumph against Birmingham Phoenix. A pivotal role was played by Bryony Smith, who wielded her bat to accumulate 64 runs off 40 deliveries. The bowling department also contributed, with Kirstie Gordon and Alana King claiming a wicket each. 

Within the Rockets' lineup, skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt's batting prowess shines brightly, as she has amassed a noteworthy 195 runs with an impressive average of 48.75. Meanwhile, Bryony Smith, with 217 runs, and Lizelle Lee, who has accumulated 104 runs after a slow start this season, have been noteworthy contributors. 

However, the team looks to Harmanpreet Kaur, who has managed 63 runs so far, to elevate her performance and add a more aggressive batting approach.

Armed with two consecutive victories under their belt, the Trent Rockets Women enter this forthcoming match with the intention of extending their winning streak to three.
