Indian wicket-keeper, Richa Ghosh's exceptional display of wicketkeeping stole the spotlight during London Spirit's match against Northern Superchargers in The Women's Hundred 2023 on Friday.

Richa Ghosh's brilliant diving catch left fans in awe

It all happened when Northern Superchargers' Alice Davidson-Richards, in a bid to elevate the run rate, attempted a tricky reverse ramp against Sarah Glenn. The ball, after barely grazing the bat, brushed off Davidson-Richards and took flight near the off-stump.

With lightning-quick reflexes, Ghosh leapt into action, diving forward and stretching her right hand to clinch what is already being touted as the catch of the season. Ghosh's brilliance behind the stumps wasn't limited to this catch alone.

Earlier, she made her mark by stumping Northern Superchargers' opener, Marie Kelly, off Lauren Filer's bowling. Yet, in the grand scheme of the match, it was the Northern Superchargers' day. The dynamic duo of Georgia Wareham and Kate Cross remained un beaten guiding their side to a hard-fought victory, with just one ball to spare.

Despite their best efforts, London Spirit's aspirations for progressing to the knockouts have ended. Under the captaincy of Heather Knight, they've secured a solitary win in six outings, with two matches not seeing a result, leaving them with a modest four points.

On the other hand, the Superchargers, riding on a wave of success, have effortlessly stamped their place in the knockout stages, amassing an impressive 10 points.

Ghosh hasn’t been able to replicate her wicket-keeping heroics with the bat. Her strike rate of 88 has been underwhelming with just 44 runs in four innings.

However, behind the stumps, she's managed a commendable five catches this season, securing her position as one of the most prolific keepers in the tournament.
