Ben Stokes is set to make his return to competitive cricket after undergoing surgery earlier this year. The legendary English all-rounder will be leading the national side in their upcoming one-off Test match against Zimbabwe. On May 1, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named England’s 13-player squad for the historic match, set to be played between May 22 and May 25.

He will be accompanied by several other senior pros like Joe Root and Zak Crawley along with newly-appointed white-ball skipper Harry Brook.

The English cricket team is set to face Zimbabwe in a historic four-day match between May 22 and May 25 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The match will mark the first Test between the two sides since June 2003, and their first bilateral series in any format since December 2004.

On May 1, the ECB named England’s 13-player squad for the same. Apart from selecting seasoned campaigners like Ben Stokes and Joe Root, the English board also called up uncapped players at Test level in the form of Sam Cook and Jordan Cox. Here is a look at the entire English line-up for the four-day match against Zimbabwe at home.

The one-off Test against Zimbabwe will also commence England’s international home season this year. After the four-day affair, England will be hosting West Indies in a series of three ODIs and three T20Is between May 29 and June 10.

Roughly a week after West Indies series, England will host India in a blockbuster five-Test challenge to launch their 2025-27 WTC campaign.
