CSK have not been in great form in IPL 2025, and have won just one game out of six. They now need to show more intensity on the field against LSG to get back on track and have made some interesting changes to their playing XI.
CSK Drop Star Opener And Spinner From Playing XI vs LSG
One of them is to drop their star spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin. The offie was expected to play a big role in this season, but he has not been able to live upto his billing, and has managed just five wickets in six matches and that probably prompted the team management to make a bold call of dropping him.
He has been expensive as well, giving away runs at an economy rate of close to 10, and with the pitch not expected to assist spinners a lot in Lucknow, they have decided to make some tactical changes. They already have Noor Ahmed and Ravindra Jadeja in their line-up, so they probably think that two spinners would be enough on this pitch and have dropped Conway as well.
Dropping Conway has opened up a slot at the top of the order and an Indian, Shaik Rasheed would fit into that role while Jamie Overton, a seam-bowling all-rounder. would provide power and depth in the line-up. Thus, CSK have tried to take some bold calls for this game, and let's see how things pan out at the Ekana Stadium.
