In Match No. 67 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Ginats (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 17, 2024.

In a significant development, MI captain Hardik Pandya announced at the toss that Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has not been included in the playing XI of MI and has been rested ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.

At the toss, Pandya announced three changes to the MI lineup. Jasprit Bumrah out, with Arjun Tendulkar making his first appearance of the season after being benched for the earlier part of the tournament.

Additionally, Tilak Varma faced sidelined due to an injury, and Tim David also missing from the playing XI. This season has been challenging for the five-time champions, with inconsistencies in both their batting and bowling departments affecting their performance.

With the miserable season, the team is practically and mathematically out of the qualification but would like to end the season with a win. The team has registered themselves at the bottom of the points table with 4 wins in 13 matches.
