Virat Kohli talking to Mr. Nags in a recent interview, stated that Sunil Chhetri messaged him about his decision to retire from international football. He also praised Chhetri for being a humble character. Virat also added that the 39-year-old footballer was at peace with his decision to retire. 

Sunil Chhetri is set to hang his boots after the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against Kuwait on June 6 at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. Recently the legendary footballer dropped a video on his social media handle to call it a day from his favourite sport.

The star Indian footballer is the third-highest active international goal scorer after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. 


Virat Kohli On Sunil Chhetri's Retirement 

Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri, apart from being absolute legends of their respective fields, share an excellent friendship and fellowship. 

In an interview on the RCB insider show, Virat shared about his bond with the footballer and even praised Chhetri's modest nature. 

He actually messaged me as well, informing me that he was going to do it. But I would say that he felt like he is at peace with the decision. I have become really close with him over the years and wish him nothing but the best. He is a lovely lovely guy,” Kohli said on the RCB Insider Show.

Over the years, both legends have shared a compassionate bond and Sunil also shared that he is an Indian Cricket lover and also the biggest fan of Virat Kohli and his aggression. In the IPL 2023 season in India, the two dynamic personalities met each other at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of RCB’s home game against Mumbai Indians.
