Led by Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans are currently engaged in a riveting battle against Delhi Capitals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Skipper Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first, inviting the visitors to set the target.
Why Has Sai Kishore Not Bowled A Single Over In GT vs DC Match?
Interestingly, GT skipper Shubman Gill didn't give a single over to left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore until the final over in the high-voltage clash against DC. The Titans used five bowlers, including seasoned Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, to bowl the first 19 overs of this contest.
Surprisingly, Sai Kishore didn't bowl a single over until the 20th, a decision that made fans raise their eyebrows. It was a shocking call by Gill, given that Sai Kishore has enjoyed stellar success in the tournament, scalping ten wickets in six innings.
However, considering DC had their skipper Axar Patel at the crease, Gill probably didn't want the left-arm spinner to face the southpaw. This match-up could be the reason why the spinner couldn't bowl an over until the 20th over.
GT had some serious problems, with some of their fast bowlers experiencing cramps due to severe heatwave in Ahmedabad.
While Ishant Sharma was in and out of the ground, Prasidh Krishna hurt himself while trying to stop the ball at short fine leg.
Update: It's worth mentioning that Sai Kishore came to bowl the final over and picked a solitary wicket of Ashutosh Sharma. The Capitals finished their innings on 203 for eight at the end of 20 overs.
