This evening, Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) will cross swords against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 36th group-stage match of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The high-voltage clash is scheduled at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. 

Led by Rishabh Pant, LSG have had a roller-coaster ride in the IPL 2025, winning four out of their first seven matches. However, the visitors received a massive boost ahead of their crucial clash against RR, with ace speedster Mayank Yadav joining them for the remainder of the season. 

Will Mayank Yadav Play Today?

Promising Indian fast bowler Mayank Yadav missed plenty of action due to multiple injury setbacks. Initially, Mayank sustained a back injury while sidelined him from the first few matches. 

When he was well on course for a timely recovery, a freak toe injury further delayed his comeback. However, after comprehensive rehabilitation at BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, the fast bowler finally received fitness clearance to participate in the IPL 2025. 

He joined the LSG squad earlier this week and started training with his teammates. In a video released by the SuperGiants' social media team, Mayank was seen operating at full throttle and fine-tuning his bowling skills. 

Thus, considering Mayank seems to have fully recovered from the injuries, he will likely make it into LSG's playing XI vs RR. 

Who Will Be Dropped If Mayank Yadav Returns To LSG XI?

Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep and Avesh Khan formed LSG's pace trio in Mayank Yadav's absence. If the express pacer plays tonight, the SuperGiants might exclude one between Akash Deep and Avesh Khan, as Thakur has chipped in with regular breakthroughs.
