The stage is set for the second T20I between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. The Lankans have won the toss and have decided to bowl and would be hoping to chase down the target like they did in the first match.

The home team has not made any changes to their arsenal while Bangladesh have made three. Mohammad Naim, Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib are out of the XI while Jaker Ali, Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman will play this game.

Mustafizur Returns In Place Of Injury-Prone Taskin Ahmed

The removal of Taskin Ahmed was on the cards as it was made clear before the series that the pacer would not play all the matches due to his injury-prone nature. Bangladesh also have plenty of quality pace options at their disposal which made it easy for the management to drop Taskin Ahmed for this second T20I.

Taskin was also very expensive in the first match as he went for 43 runs in his three overs. In his place, Mustafizur Rahman has been included, who brings a lot of T20 experience to the table and has a plethora of skills at his disposal.

Bangladesh Eye Series-Levelling Win With Bold Changes

Thus, bringing in Mustafizur Rahman would provide the captain, Litton Das, with more flexibility in the bowling department. Bangladesh have also brought in Shoriful Islam, who is known for his yorkers at the death, and so with the series on line, the visitors have taken some bold calls.

Bangladesh, however, would need their batters to step up, and in that process, the inclusion of Jaker Ali is likely to help their cause. The captain Litton Das has also struggled for a long time now, and so he need to deliver to avoid third consecutive T20I series loss for Bangladesh.
