In a significant development, RR captain Sanju Samson announced at the toss that Tom Kohler-Cadmore, a solid right-handed middle-order batter who hails from Somerset, was included in the playing XI of RR as Jos Buttler's replacement against Punjab Kings.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore, also known as TKC as he's known around the circuit, started off his career at Worcestershire in 2013. The solid hitter started grabbing attention with his free-stroke play and his ability to accelerate in the middle overs.
A superb 54-ball 127 in the 2016 T20 Blast pushed TKC further into the limelight. In 2017, he was approached by Yorkshire and signed to play for them the following season. TKC has represented teams in various franchise competitions, including the PSL, LPL, BBL, and The Hundred.
So far, in 188 T20 games, he has smashed 4917 runs with a strike rate of 141, prominently featuring in the English T20 Blast and Pakistan Super League.
RR bought Kohler-Cadmore for his base price of 40 Lakhs, giving him his first IPL contract.
