Rohit Sharma, the Indian Captain, in a recent interview with Dubai Eye 103.8, stated his desire that he wanted to continue playing cricket for a few more years despite being in his late 30s. He also reflected on his 17-year-long career and he wished to contribute to the sport for a few more years.

Throughout his tenure, Rohit had been a crucial player for Team India, excelling in all formats and currently serving as a successful captain. The dyanmic batter had delivered a stellar performance, especially in the 2019 and 2023 World Cups, but Rohit has yet to secure a World Cup trophy

Rohit Sharma Massive Update About Retirement 

In 2023, under his captaincy, India reached the final after an impressive run of 10 consecutive wins, after which India faced a disappointing loss to Australia in the final match. 

“The journey has been wonderful, it has been 17 years, still hope to play a few more years as well & make an impact in World cricket”.

Rohit Sharma also expressed himself and stated that he remains hopeful and motivated to achieve this goal in the years to come.  

The 37-year-old cricketer had recently shared his intentions regarding his future in international cricket. Contrary to rumours about his potential retirement from T20Is post the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He expressed himself and stated that he will represent India across all formats for the foreseeable future.

In the ongoing IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma scored 349 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 145.42. He also stated that he is concentrating on the T20 World Cup that is set to take place in June in the West Indies and the USA.
