In today's Indian Premier League match 2024, Chennai Super Kings is set to lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants on April 19, 2024, at the Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.

In a significant development, Lucknow Super Giants have made a change in their playing XI, Matt Henry, who'll be featuring in his maiden IPL game for the franchise, replaces Shamar Joseph.

LSG have had a decent start to the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) as they have won three of the six games played in the tournament so far.

Who is Matt Henry?

LSG has bought Matt Henry, who'll be featuring in his maiden IPL game and replaces Shamar Joseph. He has represented New Zealand in 25 test matches, 82 ODI and 17 T20s so far.

He has also been part of Punjab Kings and featured in two IPL games for the franchise in 2017. Matt Henry is a fine talent and can generate seam movement at a good pace and this makes him stand apart from the other New Zealand fast bowlers.

Injuries have meant that Matt Henry has had to reduce his speeds a touch but he can still bowl a heavy ball and get the ball to move both ways.

The fast bowler has been an important part of the Kiwi setup in white-ball cricket. Over the years, he has become a potent weapon for New Zealand although injuries have plagued his career at times.

Lucknow Super Giants will play its next match against Rajasthan Royals on April 27, 2024.
