Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB Women)-famed Asha Sobhana Joy made her debut for the Indian national team in the 4th T20I against Bangladesh Women, receiving her debutant cap from the Indian vice-captain and her WPL leader, Smriti Mandhana.

Asha Sobhana becomes the third Kerala player to debut for India after Minnu Mani and Sajana Sajeevan. Sajana made her debut in the first T20 of the ongoing series.

Today, both Sajeevan Sajana and Sobhana are playing in the game against Bangladesh women. India women currently lead the series 3-0.

Asha Sobhana received her debutant cap from her RCB Women captain, Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana. 

The 33-year-old leg-spinner from Thiruvananthapuram showcased her talent in the Women's IPL (WPL), claiming 17 wickets from 15 games. 

She also achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Indian woman to pick up a five-wicket haul in the WPL.


Rain interrupts BAN-W vs IND-W in Sylhet

In the fourth T20 between India and Bangladesh, the hosts won the toss and elected to field first. India, batting first, reached 48-2 in 5.5 overs when rain interrupted the game, which led to the game becoming a 14-over affair. 

Batting in a rain-interrupted innings, India posted a sublime total of 122 for the loss of six wickets, thanks to efforts from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh. Marufa Akter emerged as Bangladesh's best bowler on the day as he bagged two cruicial wickets.

At the time of publishing, Bangladesh are in the chase, getting to 16/0 after 3 overs.
