Rain delay in Navi Mumbai - (Source: AFP)
It has turned out to be a disappointing outing in Navi Mumbai as the much-anticipated Women's World Cup 2025 final between India and South Africa has been delayed because of persistant rains in Navi Mumbai. The match was supposed to start at 3:00 pm but it has been over an hour but there are no signs of a start any time soon.
The rain are worried about the final, but fortunately there is a reserve day which is Monday, November 2, in case the match gets abandoned today. However, the officials, will try their best to get the game going today itself despite the overs getting reduced.
Although, there is general curiosity among the fans what is the cut-off time for India vs South Africa Women's World Cup 2025 final and this article will throw light on that.
What is the cut-off time for India vs South Africa Women's World Cup final on Sunday?
Notably, the overs will start to get reduced after 5:00 pm IST, but the last cut-off time for a 20-over game is 9:08 pm IST. If the match fails to start by 9:08 PM IST, then the game will head towards reserve day.
What are the rules for a reserve day?
Scenario 1 for fresh game: If a full 50-over match begins on Sunday but is interrupted due to rain midway and the final between India and South Africa is reduced to 40 overs or less per side and cannot resume on the same day, it will restart as a fresh 50-over contest the following day.
Scenario 2 for resumption from last day: If play resumes after being reduced to let's say 40 overs, but rain returns and stops play again. The match will then continue from the reduced point on the reserve day and not as a fresh game.
