Sunrisers Hyderabad have started their IPL 2023 campaign on a wrong note as Rajasthan Royals thumped them by 72 runs in the fourth game of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The Sunrisers were never really in the game as they leaked over 200 runs in the first half and just could not show any intent after they lost two wickets in the first over. It was however, only the first game of the season and Sunrisers Hyderabad were without some of their key players including the skipper, Aiden Markram.

They will be back for the next game and Sunrisers would be confident of their chances going forward, something that the stand-in skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar also mentioned after the game.

Bhuvi emphasised on forgetting the opening game and moving forward. He, however,  credits his bowlers for pulling things back at the backend of the first half but accepts that they did not bowl well with the new ball when there was something for the bowlers.

This is what Bhuvneshwar Kumar said,

"Just got to forget it and move forward. Last five to six overs we pulled things back with the ball. There was something in it for the bowlers but we didn’t bowl well upfront. They also batted really well,"

Bhuvneshwar Kumar sounded confident about their batting and mentioned that they are good batting side with their regular captain, Aiden Markram coming back as well. He adds that the pitch for the RR-SRH game was a good one and mentions that they can get whatever pitch they want at their home ground in Hyderabad and they need to bounce back quickly in the next game.

"Captain is coming back and it will definitely be a good batting side. It was a pretty good track. The good thing is that we can get whatever we want and we quickly need to bounce back in our next game."

SRH had some positives from the game like T Natarajan bowling well at the death and Fazalhaq Farooqi impressing with his swing and pace. They now play their second game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which will be an away game and SRH would be hoping to make a strong comeback in that game.
