Abdul Samad, the hard-hitting batter of Sunrisers Hyderabad has become the first Impact Player for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He replaced Fazalhaq Farooqi in the run-chase when Sunrisers lost half of their side at the score of just 48 in the 10th over while chasing a huge target of 204.

In the first half of the game, Fazalhaq Farooqi, the man who Abdul Samad replaced as an Impact player made a big impression with his left-arm pace bowling. He got two wickets while Abdul Samad did who is known for his big hitting failed to get going with wickets falling at the other end. He, however, showed glimpses of his power-hitting in the final over and ended with a run-a-ball unbeaten knock of 32. Incidentally, he was also the highest scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the game.

Sunrisers Hyderabad were chasing a huge total of 204 and were rocked early when Trent Boult got both Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in the very first over. Rajasthan were brilliant with the bat too in the Powerplay, and all three of their top-3 batters scored fifties, taking their team to a big total. In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad were never in the chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, eventually losing by 72 runs.
