In the most-awaited clash between the arch-rivals - Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI), Faf du Plessis won the toss for RCB and asked his opposition team to bat first.

Bangalore have elected a firm team, picking skipper Du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Reece Topley and Michael Bracewell as their four foreign players. Meanwhile, MI has gone with just three four foreigners, picking Tim David, Jofra Archer and Cameron Green.

Talking about the teams’ composition, both of them have got their season hampered by injuries already.

With Jasprit Bumrah out of season, MI bowling becomes frailer, leaving all the responsibility on Archer’s shoulders. The sumptuous Green will assist the English seamer as Mumbai have gone against picking Jason Behrendorff in their Playing XI. However, the Aussie seamer is one of their five Impact Players.

RCB, on the other hand, isn’t in the best shape after Will Jacks, Josh Hazlewood and Rajat Patidar are unavailable. However, despite the trio's absence, they have the majority of their core players.

Having said that, Mumbai always have had the upper hand over the Challengers, with the former winning 19 out of 32 matches contested between these two. But RCB has gotten an edge over MI in the last five games, winning four of them.
