Young Pakistan seamer Zaman Khan seems to be relishing his time out in the Big Bash League 2023-24 (BBL|13), Australia's premier domestic T20 competition. The unorthodox right-arm pacer, who is turning up for the Sydney Thunder in the BBL 2023-24, has been nailing his yorkers with command at the death-overs stage.

One such yorker from the promising quick saw him hit the base of middle stump against Melbourne Stars' batter Hilton Cartwright at a critical stage of Match 12 of the tournament's ongoing edition at the Lavington Sports Oval in Albury on Saturday (December 23).

The bowler outfoxed Cartwright on an attempted big shot with a perfect yorker where the ball swivelled late in the air via the bowler's slingy, 'Lasith Malinga' style action and dipped on the right-hander's downswing to crash into the stumps.

As Malinga used to find in abundance, Zaman got his yorker to drift and dip ever so slightly without any warnings against the opposition batter and went past his willow for a memorable dismissal in the 17th over of the Stars' innings.

Cartwright, who was aiming for a six towards the deep mid-wicket region, had even stood deep inside the crease in anticipation of the yorker. But the right-hander was still beaten by the Thunder pacer, who got it to move away from his downswing.

The 22-year-old Zaman is on his maiden BBL stint with the Sydney-based club after recently signing up for the 2023-24 Australian summer. He ended the outing against the Stars with terrific figures of 3 for 24 off his 4 overs and played a major role in restricting the opposition to 172 in 20 overs and Thunder's win by five wickets.

Zaman would be determined to continue in the same vein in Thunder colours as he hopes to bolster his stocks for Pakistan, having turned up at the highest level in six T20Is and a solitary One-Day International.
