Litton Das Wicket [Source: @BPLT20/X.com]
One of Bangladesh's most prominent all-rounders, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, is turning the heat on in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 with the ball as the Khulna Tigers' skipper bowled a spell from hell in the match against Dhaka Capitals at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Coming into bowl at a pretty unusual time for a spinner in the third over, Miraz brought himself early to neutralize the Litton Das effect with his off-spinners as the plan worked in favour of the bowler.
How Miraz troubled the opposition
Chasing 174 for victory, Capitals were 17 for no loss after the end of the second over when Mehidy took the ball himself and bowled a flighted delivery to tempt Litton, who then tried to smash it over the leg side boundary with a slog-sweep. However, his shot didn't connect well as he hit it to the lone fielder, Ibrahim Zadran, standing in that region at deep square leg.
Litton's knock ended on two from just three deliveries, and in came Stephan Eskinazi, whose stay was even shorter at the crease as he perished on the very first delivery, leaving Dhaka in a lot of trouble.
Miraz again pitched the ball up, and Eskinazi, looking to chip it on the leg side, played it straight into the hands of William Bosisto at short mid-wicket, returning back to the pavilion for a golden duck.
Miraz Finishes With Unbelievable Figures Of 3 For 6
He didn't stop after taking Eskinazi's wicket as he dismissed Shubham Ranjane in the ninth over and finished with figures of 3 wickets for just six runs, sending a strong message to the opposition.
His superlative effort dented the opposition as they couldn't really recover from the setback and lost the game by a margin of 20 runs despite a magnificent century by Capitals skipper, Thisara Perera.
