Daryl Mitchell has been one of New Zealand's premier batter in last year or so and has scored runs across formats. His ability to mould his game according to the game situation is what makes him a critical asset in the Kiwi line-up and in the big game against India, he has once again showed his worth with a majestic century. The class and quality of this century was as good as we have seen in this World Cup and he rightly received a huge applause and standing ovation from his teammates and capacity crowd assembled at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Daryl Mitchell came out to bat with New Zealand under bit of pressure as they lost two early wickets with just 19 on the board. However, Mitchell with his calm and composed attitude steadied the ship and started building a solid partnership with Rachin Ravindra. Rachin was dropped early in his innings but Mitchell almost played a chanceless knock till he was dropped by Jasprit Bumrah in his 80s.

The highlight of Mitchell's knock was his counterattacking blow against Kuldeep Yadav, smashing some towering sixes against India's premier spinner.He eventually hit a run-a-ball century and played a big role in New Zealand's strong batting performance against an in-form Indian bowling attack.
