A Cricket game has been several kinds of halts; be it bad light, rain, or thunderstorm. But, on Friday, December 6, the internet was sent into a frenzy after day 1 of the 2nd Test between India and Australia was halted because of a power failure in the ground.

Notably, India and Australia have locked horns in a Day/Night Pink ball Test and the incident occurred when the lights were required the most. The incident first occurred in the 18th over of Australia's innings when the sun had set and the ball was doing magic under lights.

Rare Power Failure Halts Play In Adelaide

Harshit Rana was bowling the 18th over, when suddenly the lights went out and there was pitch darkness at the Adelaide Oval. The failure was rectified quickly, but it again occurred after two balls.

The second time, Rana was miffed by the malfunction and threw the ball in anger. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant, who were standing at the slip cordon, share a laugh together over the bizarre incident.

The error was again acted upon swiftly and the play resumed quickly. At the time of writing this article, Australia are 55/1 after 22 overs.

Australia Does A Pakistan-Like Incident

Pakistan have made a name for themselves for such kind of incidents as they once also had issue with floodflights when it caught fire during PSL opening ceremony. Further, during 2023 Asia Cup match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, a similar incident occured when a floodlight failure resulted in a 15 minute delay.

In this match, Harshit Rana was also unhappy with the floodlight failure and also threw the ball in anger towards the keeper.
