As Virat Kohli returned to the field after missing out on the series opener against Afghanistan, all eyes were on him ever since the start of the contest on Sunday (January 14) at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. As usual, the talismanic batsman put everything on the field when India were bowling first in the second T20I of the three-match series, albeit an effort could have been better and gave his side a crucial breakthrough.

The incident happened during the 9th over of Afghanistan’s innings when Shivam Dube bowled a full delivery to Gulbadin Naib, who was batting on 41*. The timing from Naib was not as he wanted to play, and thus, Kohli, who was placed at long-on, had a great opportunity to grab a sensational catch.

However, the former Indian captain did not manage to hold the ball, as it went from his hands after he dived forward to take that one. To be honest, considering Kohli’s calibre and athleticism, it should have been taken by the great man.
