[Watch] Virat Kohli ‘Chopped on’ By Shaheen Afridi in High-Voltage Asia Cup Clash

Former India captain Virat Kohli fell cheaply against Pakistan on Saturday (September 2) in Match 3 of the Asia Cup 2023 at Pallakele International Cricket Stadium. The 34-year-old struck a beautiful boundary off Naseem Shah, but he left soon after, giving Shaheen Shah Afridi the opportunity to enjoy his prized wicket.

It was the third ball of the seventh over by Shaheen Shah Afridi, which Virat Kohli looked to punch through the short third for a single. However, the ace batter committed too early to play his regulation shot, and thus, the ball took the thick inside edge onto his pad before breaking the leg stump.

Unsurprisingly, Shaheen was pumped up after getting Kohli's wicket, especially because it came right after he knocked over Rohit Sharma. Kohli, on the other hand, was disappointed with his false shot, which could have been played in a better way.

Earlier, there was a confusion whether Kohli would come at No. 3 or at No. 4. The debate began after Rohit Sharma's team sheet mentioned Kohli at No. 4, behind Ishan Kishan.

However, Kohli came at his usual No. 3, only to return to the pavilion cheaply after a paltry seven-ball four.
